Memory #22: "Is he going to be okay?" [Canon/headcanon; the week leading up to Nibelgeddon] (Negative Trivial)
What He Remembered:
- Conversation with Sephiroth in the study down in the ShinRa mansion:
Sephiroth: Long ago, catastrophe struck this planet. Your ancestors survived by scurrying about and hiding in fear. The planet escaped certain doom through the sacrifice of the Cetra. After which, your kind would multiply and assume control over the planet as if nothing had happened. Now, the Cetra are but a memory that exists only within the pages of history.
Zack: So what does that have to do with you?
Sephiroth: Don't you see? There is Jenova, an Ancient unearthed from a 2000 year old stratum. And then, there is the Jenova project. The aim of the project was to create a human being with the powers of a Cetra. Thus, they created me.
Zack: Created . . . ?
- Going back and forth between the hotel and the mansion to check on Sephiroth. 8(
- Sephiroth has basically locked himself up in there, up all night reading, etc.
- NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO GET HIM TO COME BACK, all failed.
- Talking with Cloud a lot about it, reassuring him that Sephiroth's fine . . . but knowing that he's wrong.
- Bits and pieces like the conversation above about Jenova, the Jenova project, etc.
What This Means:
There is a week between Genesis and Sephiroth's talk in the reactor, and Sephiroth burninating Nibelheim, and with this memory comes a lot of CONCERN and WORRY and C'MON SEPHIROTH WHAT'S WRONG :( feelings.
Also it's somewhat of an infodump in Sephiroth gradually going crazy talk, Jenova information, etc. OH so it took a week for Sephiroth to literally snap, that's good to know. :|a

Notes: Game 72, shiny gold-tone ring. You'll only get one use out of it, though, and if you wear it or rub at it or scratch it enough, you'll realize it's some other less-nice metal underneath.
